Longer consultation times are available, please ask our receptionists if you require a longer appointment. Walk in appointments are accepted.
Communications with your Doctor
If you need to communicate with your doctor please contact our Reception via telephone. In most cases our reception staff will ask you to make an appointment to see your doctor. At the Receptionist’s discretion they make take a message and pass it on to the doctor for you.
All phone calls are taken by the doctor at their discretion.
For the benefit of your ongoing health care, your Doctor would like to see you for any repeat prescriptions.
Bulk billing is available at this practice for current Medicare cardholders. Please remember to bring your Medicare Card with you to each appointment as well as your Pension & Health Care cards.
Some medicals and visits are not covered by Medicare, eg: work-related accidents and injuries, pre-employment, commercial drivers medicals, life insurance, superannuation etc. If you have any queries please ask reception when making the appointment. Payment is required for additional services at the time of consultation, EFTPOS facilities are available at all our practices.
Drs@Capalaba Central is predominantly a bulk-billing surgery and our aim is to provide patients with affordable health care. In order to maintain bulk-billing entitlements at this surgery patients are required to attend their appointments on time and to notify the surgery of any cancellations “prior” to the appointment time. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a fee being charged and a loss of bulk-billing entitlements at this surgery.
Recall/ Reminder System & Test Results
Our practice is committed to providing you with the best preventative care possible. In the event of an abnormal result we will contact you directly via phone, sms or by letter to advise that you need to make an appointment to discuss these results. On some occasions we may issue you with a reminder notice.
All test results are strictly confidential and in order to protect your privacy this practice does not give out results to patients over the phone. We request you make an follow up appointment within seven days of having your test done.
This surgery provides after hours care for patients through National Home Doctors Service (13SICK – 13 74 25). If you are experiencing a medical emergency please call 000 or attend your nearest hospital.
Home Visits are offered and the decision as to the Urgency of these visits is left with the Doctors and Nursing Staff at this surgery.
Culture Background an Ethnicity
To ensure that your care is tailored to your needs, staff at this practice encourage patients to identify their cultural background/or ethnicity on their medical record. If you identify with a particular background, please let reception or your doctor know.
For newborns that do not have a Medicare number allocated to them at the point of consultation, it would be greatly appreciated if you could notify the clinic of the Medicare number once you receive it.
